Burnfoot

Burnfoot (Irish: Bun na hAbhann ) is a small village in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, 4 kilometres north of Dungiven and 9 kilometres south of Limavady. It is beside the River Roe, with the greater part of the built up area on the western side of Drumrane Road.

» Burnfoot railway station opened on 12 November 1864, was closed for passenger traffic on 6 September 1948, and finally closed altogether on 10 August 1953.

 

» Between Burnfoot and Inch Island is a noted bird sanctuary, rich in many species of migrating birds.
